Tom and Harriet invite you to join us to meet and talk with the author of a wonderful new book, “A Remarkable Woman in America.” The author is Dr. Phyllis
Cassano, a member of our Club and the organizer of our Book Club.
In her book, Phyllis tells the story of her mother, a native Italian, who married a WWII veteran, in Italy. After relocating to America, her husband died suddenly only 2 1/2 years later. Her mother did not speak English and was left to raise her toddler daughter alone. She decided to remain in America and had to overcome the obstacles and hurdles she faced as a single mother.
It is a heartwarming story of her faith, determination, and persistence. Phyllis also includes photos from her personal collection, plus a selection of her mother’s favorite recipes, poems, and her inspirational eulogy.
Autographed copies of the book will be available, and cost $20 (cash please).
Light refreshments will be served: wine and cheese, water, and snacks.
